But now I'm back, and I have to say I missed you! In the short time that I've been blogging, I've grown kinda' fond of this space.
So today's prompt for the blog-a-thon was a tough one for me. We've been asked to choose a word for 2014 and share it. I know that a lot of people, particularly bloggers, do this every year, but I for one find it next to impossible. How can I choose just one word to guide me for an entire year? Why would I want such a narrow focus for my life? And why does it have to coincide with the new year? What if I want to choose a word in April or June?
And then I realized that I can go about this however I want. There really aren't any rules. And the idea of choosing one word really just represents the focusing of our energies on one aspect of our lives that might need some special care and attention. So I've decided I'm going to pick a phrase rather than just one word, and I am free to change it whenever and for whatever reason I wish. I'm going with an idea that came up for me during Jamie Ridler's December Creativity Corner. It is, drumroll please...
Let love in.
Sappy, yes, but oh so important for me at this point in my life. Explaining why would take another entire blog post, so for now I'll just say that I need to change my attitude. I need to open my mind and my heart, and accept that there are people who will love me just as I am.
Sarah xoxo
