It's Day 9 of the Kickin' It Old Skool blog-a-thon, and today's prompt is to list some of our favourite movies. Since I have diverse tastes that tend to change on a whim, it's always hard for me to do lists of favourites, but here are the first 20 that came to my mind, in no order whatsoever:

Did you ever see Shirley Valentine? I thought of it as I read the movies on your list--it's like Enchanted April in that it's about an English woman who gets away to a warm climate and finds herself. Good humor, too! I love some of the movies on your list! That one, Room with a View, Amelie, and Strictly Ballroom especially. Thanks for sharing! 12/9/2013 02:49:12 am
Love Amelie! Such a lovely film. And now I need to check out Shirley Valentine that Kelly mentioned above. My list grows ever longer... 12/9/2013 08:09:49 am
I don't know The Enchanted April so I looked it up. Sounds like a perfect curl up movie for a frosty December day. Oh man! A whole bunch I forgot about here! Johnny Stecchino is HILARIOUS! Did you see The Monster? Sidesplitting. And of course Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which I was just reminded of on another's blog. And I loved Enchanted April (watched it again, recently). Night on Earth - I'd COMPLETELY forgotten about that movie! Wait... I need to grab a pad and pen and write all these down as I go through people's blogs tonight. :-) Valley Girl! Wow, that is an awesome choice. I would love to revisit that one. Oh wow, you have a few I've not heard of: The Winter Guest and Johnny Stecchino. I will have to go look them up, especially considering your excellent taste also include Strictly Ballroom and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. 12/9/2013 04:11:20 pm
Oh, I totally feel you on not being able to pick favorites! While I do have a select set of movies I could just watch over and over for varied reasons, it's usually more about what I'm in the mood for in a given moment, what I haven't seen in a while and wouldn't mind refreshing my memory on, etc. Like music -- it's about mood and taste and that changes! 12/11/2013 01:33:53 pm
Oooooooooooooooh, Enchanted April is totally on my list, too! Isn't it the best? :) Come about March here in the Pacific NW, when it is raining sideways every single day, I pretty much play that movie on a loop in my studio :) Leave a Reply. |
