In case you are ever in need of a good put down, or a chuckle, I present to you the Shakespeare Insult Kit, created by Chris Seidel.

The instructions are simple - Combine one word from each of the three columns featured, prefaced with "Thou," and you'll be ready to face anyone in verbal combat. After all, would YOU be able to handle being called a "loggerheaded, flap-mouthed foot-licker?"

I thinketh not.

I was directed to you by Corrina Gordon Brown of YouInspireMe.com as an example of good marketing practice. I adore the Shakespeare insult link and shall seek out opportunities to apply same. Rather feel they would be wasted on my 11 and 9 year olds though. As my best friend however, not only did an English degree at Leeds, but has a husband who is manager of the building fabric of the Royal National Theatre (they are performing King Lear directed by Sam Mendes at present - and can't you feel me basking in 7th hand reflected glory?), I feel she would gratefully receive this post passed on.
By they way - and in case you hadn't noticed - I'm a fellow word nerd. Is this the updated version of wordsmith, I wonder...

I'm so pleased that you stopped by, Mary. I agree that flinging these insults at your children will most likely get you some pointed stares and not much else!

As for your Shakespearian connection - bask away in that glory - milk it for all it's worth (free tickets, perhaps?)

Always happy to meet a fellow word nerd, and who better than Shakespeare to bring us together? (Well actually, I guess that was Corrina - she's lovely, too!)
